Life on a String

“The world as imagined by two blind musicians. ‘The Holyman’, who is travelling through China with his acolyte Shi Tou, is waiting for a string to break on his instrument for the thousandth time. Only then will the formula to restore his sight be revealed. Second film by Chen Kaige.”

Sounds pretty shit huh? Well Chen Kaige made ”Farewell My Concubine” and this one’s shot in the Gobi Desert, where it meets the Yellow River.

Best bit by far was when the girl falls backwards over a cliff and the sound effects are of a toilet flushing.
